Common Issues

Find quick solutions to common issues below. If your problem isn’t listed, contact support.

Common causes:

  1. Expired connection: Reconnect your social account
  2. Platform outage: Check platform status
  3. Content violation: Review platform policies
  4. Media issue: Check file size/format

Fix it:

  1. Go to Calendar → find the failed post (marked red)
  2. Click to see error message
  3. Fix the issue
  4. Reschedule

If stuck for more than 10 minutes:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check Activity Log for status
  3. Verify account connection
  4. Try publishing again
  1. Verify the post shows “Published” in Postiv.io
  2. Check the correct platform was selected
  3. Confirm you’re looking at the right account
  4. Refresh the platform feed
  5. Wait 5-10 minutes (some platforms have delays)

Platform tokens expire periodically. To fix:

  1. Go to SettingsConnected Accounts
  2. Find the account with the warning
  3. Click “Reconnect”
  4. Authorize again on the platform

Instagram requires:

  • Business or Creator account (not personal)
  • Connected Facebook Page
  • Admin access to the Page

LinkedIn tokens expire every 60 days. Simply reconnect:

  1. SettingsConnected Accounts
  2. Click “Reconnect” on LinkedIn
  3. Log in and authorize
  1. Go to postiv.io/login
  2. Click “Forgot Password”
  3. Enter your email
  4. Check inbox for reset link
  5. Create new password
  1. Make sure you’re using the same Google/Apple account you signed up with
  2. Check if the social provider is having issues
  3. Try logging in with email/password instead
  4. Contact support if it persists
  • Verify you’re using the correct email
  • Check if you signed up with social login (Google/Apple)
  • You may have used a different email

After multiple failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked:

  • Wait 15 minutes and try again
  • Or use “Forgot Password” to reset

Check:

  • File size under 10MB
  • Supported format (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP)
  • File isn’t corrupted

Fix:

  • Compress the image
  • Convert to JPG
  • Try a different browser

Check:

  • File size under 500MB
  • Supported format (MP4, MOV)
  • Duration within platform limits

  1. Refresh the page

  • Make sure you’re clicking and holding
  • Posts within 10 minutes of publishing can’t be moved
  • Check you have edit permissions

  2. Make sure an image is attached
  3. Try a different style
  4. Refresh and try again
  • Credits reset on your billing date
  • Upgrade plan for more credits
  • Check SettingsSubscription for usage
  1. Update brand voice settings
  2. Add more example content
  3. Rate generated captions (👍/👎)
  4. AI improves with feedback
  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Disable browser extensions
  4. Try a different browser
  5. Check status.postiv.io for outages
  1. Refresh the page
  2. Log out and log back in
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies
  4. Try incognito mode
  5. Try a different browser

    • Your account email
    • Description of the issue
    • Screenshots if helpful
    • Browser and device info
